On the third Sunday of each month you can book a spot to try Archery, Shooting, or something new, and develop your target skills.
Scout Sundays are available to all North Devon Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Guides, and Brownies (over the age of 8), and no leader is required to attend with you. You do not need any prior experience as full training will be given to those who need it.
During the Summer months (April-September) we take advantage of getting outside and use the ranges at our District Campsite, Snapper, EX32 7JY.
During the Winter (October-March) we use the purpose built facilities at Braunton Target Shooting Club, Chapel Street, Braunton, EX33 1EL.
Scout Sunday sessions cost just £3.50 (plus 29p booking fee) and last 90 minutes, there are normally four sessions available for you to book on each date
Session 1 is 10.00 to 11.30
Session 2 is 11.30 to 13.00
Afternoon sessions not always available
Session 3 is 14.00 to 15.30
Session 4 is 15.30 to 17.00
Group Bookings

Bookings
Booking is essential as spaces are limited, anybody who turns up without booking may be turned away. Booking for sessions closes 1 week before and please note you will be liable for the cost of any booked slots even if you do not attend.
Permission Form
The relevant questions are now asked during the booking process. The sessions are open to all who have their parent/guardian’s permission to shoot providing they are not subject to restriction by virtue of Section 21 of the Firearms Act (which refers to persons who have been sentenced to a term of imprisonment, youth custody or suspended sentenced) or any other law restricting the use of guns.
What to wear
No uniform is required, please dress for comfort. At Braunton, we are indoors, but it can get chilly, at Snapper we are outside with minimal cover so please consider the conditions and include raincoats, hats, suncream as required. No open-toed footwear.
Weather
The day will be weather dependent, strong winds and persistent rain will force us to reschedule. We will contact by email and post on the Facebook page linked below if this changes.
The Ranges at Braunton
The Target Shooting Club can be found if you are heading out of Braunton on the Saunton Road, just after the shops is a left turn opposite the White Lion Pub, about 200 m down that road is a tight lane on the right that leads to the club.
The Ranges at Campsite
These are located at the back of the campsite (closer to town) please park in the main graveled parking area and walk down the track that continues on from the main driveway. The ranges will be in use so please approach with caution and wait for a range officer before entering the range.
Further Questions
For members of Girlguiding to take part in archery we need GB qualified instructors in attendance. In the rare case this is not possible then they may be asked to do additional shooting instead.
